Chosen by God: Embracing Our Purpose and Grace

Have you ever pondered what it means to be chosen? Many of us find ourselves grappling with this profound question. In Ephesians 1:4-5, we discover a powerful truth: God chose us before the foundations of time and predestined us to be adopted as sons and daughters. This deep and personal relationship with God is not just an idea we created in our minds; it’s a divine arrangement initiated by Him.

The Essence of Being Chosen

Sometimes, we mistakenly believe we have God all figured out, but the reality is we often underestimate His infinite wisdom. The scripture reminds us that our entire relationship with God is His idea, not ours! He is the one who has made a way for us to be restored to right relationship with Him. Our being chosen is a testimony of His grace.

Our Reciprocal Choice

While it’s true that God chose us first, Ephesians 1:13 emphasizes that we must also choose Him. God does not force belief upon us; instead, He gives us the freedom to accept the truth of who Christ is and what He did for us over 2000 years ago. To recap: He came to this earth, lived as a man, willingly died on a cross to become the sacrifice for our sins, was laid in a tomb, and rose from the dead three days later, defeating death and Satan!
When we choose to believe in Christ, we are choosing to surrender control of our lives to Him as our Lord and Savior. We accept the grace He offers and the peace that comes from being in right relationship with God.

The Purpose Behind Our Election

In God’s spectacular design, He chose us not only to enjoy His company but also for a specific purpose. Ephesians 2:10 reassures us that we are created for good works that He has laid out for us. This purposeful calling is not without divine support; Ephesians 4:7 promises that we are given a measure of grace to fulfill the good works we were uniquely created for.

Are You Ready to Step into Your Purpose?

God is ever present and ready to meet us. When we engage with Him, He will guide us to the very people and circumstances for which we are designed to make an impact.
So, I ask you, are you ready to get busy doing what God created you to do? Embrace your calling, accept the grace, and let Him lead you through every good work set before you!
