Greater Things: Day 2 – The Miracle Depends on You

In our journey of faith, we come across moments that challenge our belief in what is possible. Psalms 86:7 resonates deeply: “In the day of my trouble I will call upon you, for you answer me.” The assurance that God hears our prayers is vital as we navigate our individual struggles.

Take a moment to reflect on Matthew 9:28-30, where two blind men sought healing from Jesus. He asked them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” They replied, “Yes, Lord.” After touching their eyes, He said, “According to your faith, let it be done to you.” In that very instant, their sight was restored. This passage illustrates not only the power of Jesus but also highlights a crucial fact: the miracle often depends on our faith.
Jesus is limitless in His abilities; however, our lack of faith can hinder us from receiving His blessings. While His Word assures us that “by His stripes we are healed” (Isaiah 53:5), receiving that healing requires us to believe. God’s omnipotence is not in question, but He desires us to exercise our faith amidst our challenges.

Imagine stepping into the shoes of those blind men—pursuing Jesus earnestly for your healing, provision, or miracle. Picture Him asking you, “Do you believe I can meet your need?” It’s easy to acknowledge His all-powerful nature, but do you believe that He can work miracles in your life—specifically for you?

Sometimes, it’s easier to have faith for others than to believe for ourselves. That’s why the miracle, whether big or small, often hinges on how we respond to God’s invitation. He urges us to trust in His ability to make the impossible possible.

To cultivate this faith, we must immerse ourselves in God’s Word. Psalms 119:105 states, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” Seek Him with hunger and thirst, and only then will you confidently affirm, “Yes, Lord, I believe” with all your heart.

Remember, God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. The miracles recorded in the Bible are not just stories; they are realities that can manifest in our lives today. All we need to do is believe to receive. So, I ask you: do you believe? Step forth in faith, and watch as God unveils His greater things.
