In a world where change is the only constant, it is comforting to know that some things remain steadfast. Matthew 24:35 reminds us, “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.” This truth resonates deeply, especially on days when we feel overwhelmed by life’s challenges.
What brings you peace today? Perhaps you are stressing about bills, navigating illness—whether for yourself or a loved one—or facing relationship struggles. Some of you may even be striving to pass a challenging class at school. Our lists of concerns may differ based on where we are in life, yet we all share a common desire for peace. However, the sense of tranquility that comes from success in these areas often feels fleeting.
There’s always a crisis or a hot topic clamoring for our attention, just as it has been since the beginning of time. The issues that seem monumental today may become mere memories a year from now. Amid the chaos—be it good or bad—there is one unchanging truth that transcends time and space: the Word of God.
Remember, problems don’t last forever, even when they feel overwhelming. In moments of struggle, it’s easy to entertain doubts and think, “I can’t take any more.” However, my friend, this is a lie from the enemy. When Jesus is our rock, standing firm on Him ensures that we will not be destroyed. The adversary often exploits our vulnerabilities during tough times, seeking to convince us of our defeat. But we must remember that in Christ, we are not defeated. We walk in power, authority, and victory.
Acts 9:32-35 recounts how the apostle Peter performed extraordinary miracles; he healed a paralyzed man named Aeneas, who had been bedridden for eight years. This miraculous healing reminds us that the same power that empowered Peter and John to perform miracles in Acts 3 is available to us today. That power, poured out in Acts 2, is the promise given in Acts 1. We have the strength to overcome life’s challenges.
Romans 8:31 beautifully reassures us that if God is for us, who can be against us? Rest assured, child of God, He is on your side. He fights our battles and provides us the strength to rise above adversities. Do not be overwhelmed by the world, for you have been given the authority to conquer it.
Today, I urge you to step into your God-given power. Hold onto His promises, trust in His unchanging nature, and let His Word be your source of peace. In the face of life’s unpredictability, stick to what does not change—His love for you and His unwavering promises. Embrace the greater things that lie ahead, and trust that He is working all things for your good.
