Greater Things: Day 3 – Peace of Mind

In today’s fast-paced world, finding peace of mind can often feel like a daunting task. Psalms 46:10 beautifully reminds us to “be still, and know that I am God.” It’s a call to pause amidst the chaos and recognize His sovereignty. How many of us fall prey to worry about our health, security, financial futures, or the life choices of our children? With relationship issues and a world that often seems to spiral into chaos, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed.

However, we must remember that this world does not define nor provide our peace of mind. We don’t have to live caught up in the drama surrounding us. Instead, we can walk against the currents of worldly fear and anxiety—not as rebels, but as individuals anchored in the promises of God.

As Psalms 23:1-3 assures us, “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul.” This is the heart of our faith: God promises us peace and restoration, guiding us through the turmoil of life.

John 14:27 adds to this promise, stating, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.” In a world rife with uncertainty, we must fix our focus on the truth of God’s Word and allow our belief in His promises to shape our outlook.

Peace, despite life’s challenges, is a position—it’s a stand of faith. The enemy will constantly attempt to bombard our minds with worries, creating anxiety and anguish that can even lead to physical ailments. It’s crucial for us to recognize these thoughts and rebuke them in Jesus’ name.

In the midst of life’s storms, God has granted us the power to walk in supernatural peace. Remember, He assures us: “Be still and know that I am God.” And in Matthew 28:20, He promises, “Lo, I am with you always, even until the end of time.” You are never alone in your storm.

So, what do we do with this truth? Embrace it. Trust God to carry you through every trial. Instead of allowing fear to control your thoughts, make the active choice to place your faith in Him. As you embrace His promises, you will find that true peace transcends all understanding, guiding you through every season in life.
