In Exodus 14:15, we read, “The Lord said to Moses, ‘Why are you crying out to me? Tell the sons of Israel to march on.’” This powerful directive came at a crucial moment when the Israelites were fleeing slavery in Egypt, racing towards the Promised Land with the Egyptian army hot on their heels. Trapped between the deadly waters of the Red Sea and a relentless enemy, the situation seemed hopeless.
Now, imagine yourself in that scenario. You are running for your life, with the vast expanse of the ocean on one side and your enemy closing in on the other. What emotions would surge through you? Panic? Fear? A sense of desperation? It is easy to feel overwhelmed in such dire circumstances.
Moses turned to God for guidance, and God’s response was simple yet profound: “March on.” But how? God was instructing them to move forward into the very waters that appeared ready to swallow them. This moment reflects a crucial lesson: sometimes, when it seems like there’s no escape, we need to press forward by faith, even into the unknown.
Jeremiah 29:11 promises us, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” When God provides direction, it’s vital to take that first step. You may not see the entire path laid out ahead, but you can trust that God will provide the next step. Remember, He is the Waymaker!
In Joshua 1:9, we are reminded to “be strong and courageous.” Do not let human logic deter you from pursuing God’s plan. He desires for us to move in faith and to walk in obedience, partnering with Him to manifest the impossible in our lives.
The Israelites couldn’t perceive the grand plan God had for them. They had to step into the unknown with strength and courage to witness the miracle unfold. Marching is not an act of impulsiveness; rather, it is the steady rhythm of trusting God, moving forward even when we can’t see the way clearly.
As they marched, God parted the Red Sea, allowing the Israelites to cross safely. Once they reached the other side, the waters returned, closing off their enemies and securing their safety.
Today, I encourage you to trust God to part the waters in your life. He is able and willing to make a safe passage for you on your journey towards your promised land. Keep marching forward, step by step, trusting Him every inch of the way. Your miracle is waiting on the other side!
